Michele Sparks opened Art Mob Studios & Marketplace in downtown Hendersonville 2011, creating an outlet for artisans to sell their work to downtown visitors. Beginning with 25 local artists, her business now represents 86 artists from Henderson County and other parts of Western North Carolina, many of whom would not be able to have their own local gallery space. Shortly after opening her business, Michele jumped right into the Hendersonville Main Street Program and has been involved in every area of downtown development. She volunteered with events like Rhythm & Brews and organized the local Art on Main festival to support the ArtScape outdoor art gallery program. Michele is a positive, creative problem solver among downtown businesses and the arts community, and a critical part of downtown Hendersonville’s success.
