2023 NC Main Street Champion
Community advocate extraordinaire, Liza Govan, is a remarkable person. Her volunteering spans years as a Board Member of the United Way, Ambassador of Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, Outreach Committee Member of the Paramount Theatre of Goldsboro, Promotions Committee member and Vice President of Downtown Goldsboro Development Corp.
As a Curtis Media Coastal Carolina Group account executive, Liza combines her community spirit with professional experience to advocate for downtown Goldsboro in tangible ways. Starting in 2019 Liza led her colleagues and many volunteers to hold Goldsboro’s Juneteenth celebrations events downtown. The 2023 event featured sixteen performers, eight powerful community speakers, and was supported by twenty-four locally owned businesses. Liza has also been instrumental in delivering Letters to Santa in downtown Goldsboro, combining her connections in the community with local business sponsorships and media exposure.
This service occurs throughout the month of December in Spanish as well as English versions. Always ready to serve others and include all citizens of our diverse community, Liza personifies Goldsboro community engagement.
