Greg Shields has dedicated more than twelve years of service to Downtown Salisbury, Inc. (DSI), and his work-ethic and professional skills have been a true asset for the program. He served on the DSI Board of Directors, as Chairman for three years, and currently serves as a committee member. Throughout his chairmanship, Greg was the rock for DSI as it experienced an intense period of personnel changes and transition. He provided constant support, keeping the organization focused, and most importantly, consistent. Greg not only supports the business owners in the downtown, but also actively supports many non-profits working to improve Salisbury, including Crosby Scholars, the Norvell Theater, and the Lee Street Theater.
In 2017, Downtown Salisbury, Inc. moved under the City of Salisbury’s administration, creating a semi-public/private partnership with the North Carolina Main Street program. Greg was instrumental in the development of the Memorandum of Understanding for and the transition to the partnership.
