2021 NC Main Street Champions
Flowers on Belmont’s Main Street always look beautiful thanks to a program called Flower Power. The program, by Keep Belmont Beautiful, invites volunteers to sign up to help maintain more than 30 flower beds in the downtown area. The city handles the planting, mulching, and watering of the raised beds, while Flower Power teams help weed and tend to the flowers. Flower Power volunteers are assigned to specific raised beds to maintain each month. The volunteers work extremely hard year-round keeping Main Street looking fantastic. The Flower Power program was initiated and is managed by Keep Belmont Beautiful board member, Susan Wall.
