Chris English is an energetic and passionate advocate for his hometown of Laurinburg, North Carolina, and a skilled resource for the community and the Laurinburg Main Street program.
As the Executive Director of the Laurinburg/Scotland County Area Chamber of Commerce, he constantly works toward economic development initiatives in the area. He is also an active member of the Laurinburg Main Street Downtown Advisory Committee and sits on both the Framework and Development Committee and the Promotions and Events Committee for the Main Street program.
Through his positions with both the Chamber and the Main Street program, Chris plays a strong role in business recruitment and assistance throughout downtown Laurinburg and the community. Chris is also a strong advocate for downtown programming and recently helped the community move both the “Laurinburg After Five” music series and the Halloween seasonal haunted house to the downtown district. He is a champion for the local Christmas Parade and has provided crucial leadership for planning other events, such as Springfest and Christmas on Main, and many other retail promotions.
For these reasons, the Laurinburg Downtown Advisory Committee is proud to name Chris English a North Carolina Main Street Champion
