Jackie Cornell is an instrumental constituent to the Downtown Aberdeen Main Street Program. Some may recognize Ms. Cornell as the store manager of a vibrant crafting shop, Aberdeen Bead and Brushes, but she is also an indispensable contributor to the Downtown Aberdeen Advisory Committee. Jackie created and spearheaded the Downtown Aberdeen Dog Fair, an event that brought over 2,000 people to downtown. This dog-themed festival provided a platform for local animal shelters to further their initiatives while providing an enjoyable experience to the community. The Dog Fair was the first of its kind within a 100-mile radius and is set to become an annual event that attracts visitors from all over the state. Jackie’s charitable event helped establish Downtown Aberdeen as a focal point in the county and brought lots of attention to local businesses. Jackie Cornell is indispensable to downtown and the Downtown Aberdeen Advisory Committee is proud to recognize her as a North Carolina Main Street Champion.
