Zan has been an integral part of the Spruce Pine Main Street organization for the past five years, serving as Design & Beautification Committee Chair, Economic Revitalization Committee Chair, and Board President.
His leadership and expertise have been invaluable in major revitalization projects like our sidewalk extension, the pocket park project, and the walking bridge restoration. From cutting weeds and attending council meetings, to handing out popcorn at movie night, Zan is always there.
In the words of his peers, “Zan is truly passionate about this community and improving Spruce Pine’s prospects for the future. He has proven many times over what a strong advocate he is by his tireless energy for projects that benefit the downtown residents and merchants. With great diplomacy, he has led the board and maintains a great working partnership with the town leaders. Don’t tell Zan what can’t be done; only those things that can and will be!”
