2023 NC Main Street Champion
Nika Werner not only contributes to the betterment of downtown Hickory; she embodies it. Since 2021 she has served as a member of the Hickory Downtown Development Association Board of Directors, as well as cochair of the Business & Membership Development Committee. Nika is committed to learning the ins and outs of every aspect of the Hickory Downtown Development Association, having served on or assisted with all committees. Through Nika’s work as a real estate agent, she has made it her mission to promote downtown Hickory to her clients, thereby encouraging new community members to become engaged in the city’s economic development.
Nika constantly strives to educate herself on the data that drives Downtown Hickory. She adds this information to prospective client relocation packages. Nika is the first to volunteer and enjoys being on the front line at every Hickory Downtown Development Association event. Whether it is taking someone on a tour of downtown streets or organizing the Halloween Scavenger Hunt, Nika always represents Hickory Downtown Development Association with professionalism and a welcoming smile.
