The Downtown Newton Development Association is honored to name Summer Jenkins as our North Carolina Main Street Champion. Summer is serving her second term as the Secretary of the Downtown Newton Development Association (DNDA) board. She is also the Chair of the Promotions Committee, and has led the efforts to grow the Downtown events and promotions to include the largest Spooktacular event ever hosted by the DNDA.
Summer fostered the many conversations held within the Promotions Committee to establish a partnership with local businesses to bring a summer concert series to Downtown. She has also led the Promotions Committee to begin a billboard campaign for Downtown.
Summer is the first person to step up when help is needed and she inspires other volunteers and her fellow Downtown business owners. Her dedication to the success of Downtown Newton is genuinely evident every week of the year and we are honored to have her as our North Carolina Main Street Champion!
