2023 NC Main Street Champion
Since January 2001 when he became City Manager, John N. Ogburn III has been a tireless advocate for Downtown Asheboro. He has invested in and reimagined the historic downtown area. Downtown revitalization has been one of his priorities, providing city involvement and support for downtown events such as the Annual Christmas Parade, Christmas Downtown, and others. John has also spearheaded efforts to improve signage, install hanging baskets, expand holiday decorations, support the renovation of the historic Sunset Theatre, and install a North Carolina Zoo animal-themed crosswalk program, to name just a few examples.
For these reasons and many more, Downtown Asheboro proudly names John N. Ogburn III as its 2023 North Carolina Main Street Champion.
