2021 NC Main Street Champion
David Jackson is a man without a time clock. Neither his work ethic and belief in Boone, nor his workday, ever stop. As President of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce, David launched two major initiatives during the COVID pandemic lockdown: Keep Boone Healthy, to protect citizens, and Take Out Tuesday, to keep restaurants alive. In October 2020, David proposed a third initiative that involved a partnership between the Downtown Advocacy Committee and the Downtown Boone Development Association. The partnership leveraged additional support for local businesses, from cultivating new business plans to securing success for well-established anchor businesses. David’s business sense is only outmatched by his willingness-to-help disposition and his legendary voice.
David Jackson embodies the definition of a champion. A champion without a clock, that is. Boone is proud to recognize him as its NC Main Champion.
