Since 1980, the Cabarrus Arts Council has been dedicated to promoting cultural arts and celebrating diversity in Cabarrus County. Its commitment to arts excellence is demonstrated by its support of arts organizations and artists through grants, workshops, and one of North Carolina's largest arts-in- education programs.
The Cabarrus Arts Council manages and maintains The Galleries and Davis Theatre, two of Downtown Concord's greatest cultural assets, which celebrated their tenth anniversary seasons during 2018/2019. Over the last decade, the Arts Council has helped make the arts more accessible. By partnering with downtown businesses to create temporary outdoor galleries, providing dinner and a show, and organizing beach parties and discos for young professionals, for example, its commitment to Downtown Concord is evident.
