Brevard's Main Street Champion has been working in and on downtown Brevard for more than 35 years. He has served on various boards and committees to help the local economy, including the planning board, downtown master planning committee, courthouse committee, Heart of Brevard, and others. In the late 1970s/early 1980s, he spearheaded the downtown streetscape renovation effort (Brevard’s last major broad-scale downtown design effort). Over the last 15 years, his companies have purchased and renovated six beautiful downtown buildings which house both residential and commercial tenants. Today, Platt Architecture employs approximately 25 people downtown. Heart of Brevard thanks Al Platt for the life he has helped bring to downtown Brevard
