Sanford - Ophelia Livingston

What do you get when a business owner, pastor, and elected official serve your Downtown?  A lot of leadership! Downtown Sanford was lucky enough to get this kind of leadership when Ophelia Livingston purchased a building, rehabilitated it, and opened her business in 2012.  She then joined the Downtown Sanford, Inc. (DSI), Board of Directors in 2014.

In 2016, Ophelia was elected as our board chairperson and then tragedy struck her family - twice.  Though she was offered the opportunity to step down, she persevered and led our Downtown while dealing with the fallout from events that shook her world.  We are so fortunate to have Opheila's leadership and dedication to Downtown Sanford and are proud to honor her as our North Carolina Main Street Champion.
