“Downtown is more than streets and buildings — it’s the heartbeat of our town,” he says. That belief has guided his efforts to keep downtown vital and thriving, leading major downtown infrastructure projects, securing grants and investments that strengthen local businesses, and bringing the Main Street Program back under the Town’s leadership to ensure continued collaboration and growth.

For Mayor Shipp, it always comes back to people. “What inspires me most is the creativity and collaboration that happen here every day,” he shares. “My job is to help remove barriers so good ideas can take root and grow.”
