When Jay Brown opened Jay Brown Realtors in downtown Hickory, he wasn’t just launching a business—he was making a commitment to the community.
His impact is clear. Jay uses his business’s social media and events to spotlight the entire downtown, driving attention and foot traffic to fellow local businesses. His leadership has helped build momentum for a thriving district.
For Jay, “Downtown reflects the community. My hope is that downtown represents all the values, vitality, and character of the wonderful people in this community,” he shared with Hickory Downtown Development director.
He calls downtown a “diverse and thriving collection of people”working to make it a great place to live, work, and gather.
After five years of dedicated service, including a term as President of the Hickory Downtown Development Association, Hickory is proud to name Jay Brown their 2025 Main Street Champion.
