The staff of the Catawba County Library downtown Newton branch is a valued partner to the Downtown Newton Development Association. Library staff members regularly attend committee meetings and are the first to offer their services to create and execute promotional activities for downtown. The branch recently acquired a Library to Go mobile unit that provides books and resources for all ages. Staff bring the van to every downtown event or occasion for families to enjoy.
As downtown Newton events have grown in popularity, the library staff stepped up and created management systems to control wait times for attractions. In addition to their willingness to lend their expertise, the library regularly holds business classes, host the Downtown Newton Development Association for retreats and community input sessions, and have fitness classes on the Courthouse Square.
The Catawba County Library staff is always willing to lend a hand. The staff members are true champions of downtown Newton and now they are also North Carolina Main Street Champions!
