Breanne Scribner & Lindsey Lynam: Elizabeth City

2025 NC Main Street Champion

Two women smile in a shop. One wears a blue patterned dress, the other a cream blouse with jeans. Shelves display colorful items in the background.

“It started the night we both found out we were not going to have jobs,” said Breanne Scribner in a recent interview with Elizabeth City Downtown Director.

When the local pharmacy was bought out by a national chain, everything changed.“I was freaking out—confused, shocked. I called Lindsey. We’d grown up together,” Breanne added.

Neither of them had planned to own a pharmacy.“I loved independent, but I never wanted to be the owner. I liked going to work and leaving it at work.” But after Lindsey briefly joined the chain, she circled back and said, “I’m interested.”

From that moment, it was a race against time. They knew downtown couldn’t go long without a pharmacy. Todd’s Pharmacy closed in August 2021. They opened Harbor Pharmacy on December 1 of the same year.

“In the pharmacy world, it was fast—very fast,” Breanne shared. Their courage, speed, and commitment brought vital care back to downtown—and that’s why Elizabeth City recognizes Breanne Scribner and Lindsey Lynam as their 2025 Main Street Champions.
