Brooke Cook: Edenton

2022 NC Main Street Champion

Brooke is the example of a hardworking, determined, and independent businesswoman. The Polka Dot Palm, her now famous store, began as a small vendor booth inside a restaurant. As her business grew, she occupied a larger, more prominent space on Broad Street. Then her business grew to require an even larger space on Water Street. Now, she and her husband Ryan are the proud owners of the building where The Polka Dot Palm resides. Throughout the COVID nineteen pandemic, Brooke was an anchor for downtown, and she remains one. She maintained her established hours, was open consistently, and was a beacon of hope to remind us of what is "normal”. Her business showed Edenton that better days are ahead, and that is why Brooke Cook is its two thousand twenty-two Main Street Champion.
